One of my most memorable family events was last Thanksgiving at my grandparents’ house. It was very fun because my birthday was during that week, so we all celebrated it. A lot of my family came. My grandparents (from my dad’s side) live in Thomasville, so my sister, cousin, and I went there on the day before Thanksgiving, and my mom and dad came on Thursday. Thomasville is a beautiful little town in Georgia, about an hour away from Tallahassee. It was wonderful; you could smell the juicy turkey, warm mashed potatoes, creamy gravy, and other delicious food. I loved the soft dinner rolls. For dessert, my pumpkin pie tasted almost like butter melting in my mouth. I ate so much, that I almost didn’t have enough room for my birthday cake! Later on, I opened the gifts. I got a lot of money, jewelry, clothes, and other stuff. Soon after opening the presents, we went outside. The cool, crisp air felt like jumping in a pool on a hot summer's day; it was refreshing. We raked the leaves, made a fort with the straw, and played with Blankey, their Australian Shepared. My younger cousin Katie accidentally left the gate opened, so Blankey ran out to the front, and around the neiborhood. We ran after him. Finally we caught him, but I was so tired! I felt like I ran a thousand miles! I had a great time though. I hope next year turns out to be great too!
